Lessons with Jae
I have taught a wide age range of students spanning from 6 to 76 years old. I enjoy approaching the individual needs and unique relationship that each student has with music. Creating a personalized curriculum that is tailor made to fit is an important part of the lessons. I emphasize a balance of chords and harmony along with scales and improvisation, music theory, active listening and repertoire and strongly urge students to find their own voice through their instrument.
Both children and adults begin with material that they can relate to and we build from there. My style is to introduce students to new music in order to gain inspiration and a better understanding of the language.
Sharing my love and appreciation for music and my deep understanding of theory is a great passion of mine. Playing music is often a lifelong endeavor in which the learning, joys and challenges never cease. I look forward to being part of the journey.
