Kristina Kirchner

 
 


Kristina is a native of Asheville and began playing the clarinet in the seventh grade. While in high school, she made the All-State Honor Band, took lessons from Dr. Denise Gainey at Mars Hill College, and was a member of the Asheville Youth Orchestra. After graduating from AC Reynolds High School, Kristina attended Mars Hill College in Music Education until 2002. She then transferred to the University of Alabama at Birmingham where she received her music education degree, graduating summa cum laude. Kristina returned to the region where she has taught both general music and band at Highlands School.


LESSONS WITH KRISTINA


She enjoys teaching clarinet students of all ages and ability levels. She also enjoys teaching other beginning woodwinds as well. Kristina stresses the importance of fundamental technique and scales with all of her students. As students progress, musical pieces studied will be tailored to each student’s needs and interests. Kristina likes to keep lessons fun but focused.
