Shayne is a native Memphian. He began his career playing in local R&B and jazz fusion acts. Shayne studied formally with 70's Stax/Volt session man Errol Thomas as well as Poll winning bassist and educator Jeff Berlin before relocating to Asheville in 2000. He is a founding member of the original jazz group, Klarcnova (http://www.myspace.com/klarcnova).

LESSONS WITH SHAYNE

He uses a chord-tone system, mixed with more traditional/classical reading studies. Shayne fosters a working knowledge of music theory and sight singing.
